Traveling to the Northwest
The Northwest corner of America seems to be home to a large concentration of indie artists within our crafty movement. I’ve been dreaming of a trip to the Northwest, one of these days it will happen. Here are two such examples of artists hailing from parts northwest-ward.
Lynae Straw is a ceramicist in her early 20’s, living in San Francisco, CA. Lynae is the artist behind Panopoly Creations. Lynae states that her ”aesthetic is one of simple, natural elegance. Although I’m an urbanite I’m mostly inspired by nature”.
Being a new sponsor to our Happily Handmade events, Lynae has contributed 20 very unique and equally beautiful Porcelain Poem Pendant Necklaces! We couldn’t be more pleased she could join us for this event!! Each Poem Pendant Necklace is handbuilt using stoneware clay and glazes. Lynae does not use a potter’s wheel. She uses an electric kiln to fire all of her ware, firing at temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees Farenheit.
Visit Panopoly’s online website and blog: www.Panopoly.org for more information and to enter to win the Happily Handmade Giveaway. Then pop on over to www.panopoly.etsy.com to see all of Lynae Straw’s work in her etsy shop.
Heading north to Seattle, WA, you’ll find bath and body maven Michelle Gephart of Lemon Lollipop. Michelle admits that the idea behind her Lemon Lollipop online store and the crazy delicious bath and body products she creates came to her between loads of laundry one evening! Now knee-deep in scents and ideas, Michelle manages four additional etsy shops featuring her candles, home, bath and body products!
Michelle has been a sponsor in the past, contributing her SparklePuss Candle tins! For this event, Michelle has donated one $25.00 Gift Certificate and a Lemon Lollipop Perfume Set for 2 lucky winners!
